Prosperna is set to join the Philippine Startup Week 2022, the country’s largest startup conference, this coming November 14-18, 2022.
Dennis Velasco, CEO and Founder, will be presenting Prosperna as part of the Top 100 Startups in the country. Fro Oliva, Head of Partnerships, will join a panel of speakers to discuss the effect of digitization in the MSME sector.
The five-day nationwide conference will unite the local startup scene under the theme “Homegrown Heroes: Cultivating Future Tech Giants.”
Dave del Rosario of QBO Innovation Hub, one of the event organizers, said the reason behind the theme is to highlight the people behind the Philippine startup community. “We want to highlight the heroes. Sino ba yung bumuo ng Philippine startup ecosystem?” he said. [English translation: Who built the Philippine startup ecosystem?]
The Philippine Startup Community aims to provide an opportunity for corporates, founders, investors, government agencies, academia, and other startup enablers to network and promote collaboration to further grow the Philippines’ startup ecosystem.
This is made possible through the partnership between the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Information and Communications (DICT), and QBO Innovation Hub.
There is an estimate of around 70-80 events, with four (4) main events or “big summits”: Innovation of DICT, TBI Summit of DOST, Slingshot of DTI, and Startup Unite Conference by QBO.
Along with the main events, there are five (5) community events that are individually hosted by various startup organizations, enablers, and chapters. These events are the Discover Track, Develop Track, Investment Track, Collaborate, and Startup Showcase.
The number of startups operating in the Philippines has increased recently, as have their investment and consumer bases. Many people, communities, and businesses now believe that homegrown successes can still be developed and scaled up further in the years to come thanks to the growth of the Philippine startup ecosystem.
